BDN - Banner Developer Network

Has anyone developed a script that mimics the insertion of a registration record through SFAREGS? We would like to insert a registration record automatically instead of going through the SFAREGS form. There are other triggers and tables associated with the insert of a new registration record and I want to make sure that they are fired and updated respectively.
Basically, we would like to take the process of using the SFAREGS form and turn it into a script so we can load a generic course for our students.

At summit 2008 I met a couple people who talked to me about using their own web forms and submitting the data into Banner. I never got any of their contact information (my fault).

What I am trying to do: I am wondering if anyone can start me in a direction. We have a request information form that I would like to pull out of the banner pages and make a custom web page for. Now when the user clicks submit I want that information to be loaded into banner, so the recruitment office can use the information as they usually do.

Hey all, here at GW (The George Washington University) we've built a great tool for pidm merges. Our Summit session was called Multiple Pidm Problem Solved.

In a broad overview here is a summary of the functionality:

Merge Entry / Status. Begin a new merge, view/query the status of all merges and initiate actions.

I recently attended the 'Duplicate PIDM Management' session at Banner Summit 2008.

Someone in the audience stood up and asked why SCT hadn’t addressed the Duplicate Pidm problem, and why we were all in this room coming up with our own solutions. Someone else stood up and mentioned this project was always just under the list of priorities of enhancements each year.

Another user said he would go out to www.BANDEV.net and create a forum. Then we should all go out there and complain about the duplicate pidm problems. I didn't see anything out there, so I'm starting it.

The attached document will guide you through the steps Pima Community College (PCC) took to develop student intent within Banner, as seen in the “Capturing Student Intent with Banner” presentation on Wednesday April 16, 2008 – Course ID S-1249, and part of Sungard Summit 2008 @ Anaheim, CA. This document presents the code that was created by PCC’s development team and the way that it was integrated in Banner Web and Internet Native Banner.

Any body experiencing problems with Banner Job Sub? We need to reset the banjobs on our production server every hour of the day manually....

I would appreciate any suggestions, ideas, scripts, or howto's ....

Has anybody been able to obtain a Cognos Customer Number from Sungard? I am trying to find out who to contact in order to get our number so that we can set up support accounts with Cognos. I am getting the run around and no straight answers from Sungard and Cognos doesn't have my College or Sungard listed as customers? What gives???!!

Hi we have to create a interface for oncampus housing system . we have third party which take care of student housing oncampus. Now that third party provide us .csv file of data and asking us to provide them data from banner . My question is , Is there any way we can directly import .csv file in Banner from third party or any tool in banner which can do import for us and what is the best way to import/export a file from banner .

We've just had a demonstration of a product called Qlikview (qlikview.com). This is a new fangled business intelligence tool a la Cognos Powerplay (or Cognos8), that is purported to be simpler to use and much less expensive.

Does anyone out there in Bandev land use this product? I'd be interested in sharing notes and thoughts.
