BDN - Banner Developer Network

Hi,
We are trying to develop a C wrapper or shell script to allow end users to run customized sql scripts using job submission. We are having trouble developing anything that does not need explicit permissions. We would like to be able to have a 'Wrapper" that uses banner security and job submission for custom sql scripts.

Any assistance would be great.

Hey all, here at GW (The George Washington University) we've built a great tool for pidm merges. Our Summit session was called Multiple Pidm Problem Solved.

We are having a web demo in June for all who are interested. Please email Paromita Ray at paromita@gwu.edu to be added to our list. We'll send you a copy of our license agreement (it's a free license).

In a broad overview here is a summary of the functionality:

Merge Entry / Status. Begin a new merge, view/query the status of all merges and initiate actions.

I recently attended the 'Duplicate PIDM Management' session at Banner Summit 2008.

Someone in the audience stood up and asked why SCT hadn’t addressed the Duplicate Pidm problem, and why we were all in this room coming up with our own solutions. Someone else stood up and mentioned this project was always just under the list of priorities of enhancements each year.

Another user said he would go out to www.BANDEV.net and create a forum. Then we should all go out there and complain about the duplicate pidm problems. I didn't see anything out there, so I'm starting it.

The attached document will guide you through the steps Pima Community College (PCC) took to develop student intent within Banner, as seen in the “Capturing Student Intent with Banner” presentation on Wednesday April 16, 2008 – Course ID S-1249, and part of Sungard Summit 2008 @ Anaheim, CA. This document presents the code that was created by PCC’s development team and the way that it was integrated in Banner Web and Internet Native Banner.

Any body experiencing problems with Banner Job Sub? We need to reset the banjobs on our production server every hour of the day manually....

I would appreciate any suggestions, ideas, scripts, or howto's ....

We would like to interface Banner to Student Access - this is a third party softwarein ACCESS for the TRiO grant, but also used by counselors for keeping confidential data private (read OUT of Banner).

We would like to do a periodic load of demographic info into Student Access. Has anyone broken this ground?

I am working on interfacing data into Finance module through GURFEED. I need to set the GURFEED_DOC_CODE column in the GURFEED table. Is there an api that I can call to get the next document number?

Using SSB we have found that there are a number of in-consistencies in the interface, and while they are functional, not all of the interfaces are usable.

So we came up with a validation solution that you can "Bolt On" to SSB with a minimal package change and gives you the ability to create custom interface bits without customizing the packages.
