BDN - Banner Developer Network

We are piloting an Oracle Portal project and are trying to set up our Banner instance for single sign-on through it.
How have other institutions accomplished this?

We would like to use Oracle's SSO server "Partner Application" settings to connect to our SSB and INB running on a separate server if at all possible.

I've read through Oracle documentation on how to set the formsweb.cfg to use an sso token for authenticating, but we don't have an SSO server set up on our Banner system's OAS. I see settings for an SSO server on OAS, but ours is blank, and I would not want to bring a system down by filling out.

How does OAS determine which SSO server to use for sso through forms? Does it use the the OAS setting? If so, can the setting be set without interfering with existing systems?
