Survey on Banner Survey function and Banner General Survey Engine (GSE)

Howdy All,

I'm wondering if folks are using the Banner Survey function? We have used it twice, once for a survey about additional non-class days w/in the academic calendar and once for student body elections. The baseline product is *very* basic and somewhat limited. ...BUT there may be hope out there...

I am mostly a Luminis admin, but some how I'm also involved with campus surveys...

I took a look at some of the slides for survey related sessions and attended a couple of survey sessions at Summit '07. They all seemed to be about modifying the baseline survey code and one of the sessions (#968) was about the General Survey Engine -- GSE (not baseline). GSE looks great... they've greatly improved the functionality of surveys with branching, multiple questions on a page, and a lot more. GSE was developed by SunGard and has been made available to "International Solution Center" clients (whatever that means).

We are trying to get the GSE and/or find out how likely (and when) the GSE code might become baseline. We haven't heard back from our SunGard rep yet...

Do any of you out there have GSE? What did you have to do to get it?

Maybe SunGard is planning on make the GSE baseline? Maybe we need a pile-o-schools to back it as an RPE?

Banner surveys

Sorry for not writing back sooner. I don't log into bandev much. But even if I had seen your message, my reply would still be the same. We never heard back from our SCT rep... I guess I need to push on it. GSE is far superior to the baseline Banner Survey functions.

I'll let you know if I ever get any info.
