Running Banner Processes Using Cron

I am trying to run several Banner processes using Cron. I have written a Unix Shell Script that runs about 13 processes in a certain order using Cron.

The problem that I am having is that when there was hardly any activity in our test instance, the Cron worked. But, now that there is some activity in our test instance, it seems as though the Cron may not be running every process. I am getting output (a .lis and a .log file) from each process like it did run, but some of the processes did not. For example, the shell script is supposed to run the FGRTRNI process, which is the interface from the Banner Accounts Receivable to Banner Finance. When I checked to see if it sent the information to Banner Finance, they are actually still sitting in the Banner temporary table (FGBTRNI). I have a .lis and a .log file, but it did not send the information over to Banner Finance.

I have tried to put several 'sleep' commands in between each process, but it did not make a difference. I tried to look for the process ID of each Banner process, but I just get the process ID of the Cron job, itself. I was going to use this process ID for each process to look in 'ps' and verify that the process has completed.

Can anyone make any suggestions? I am really not sure about what to do at this point.

Thanks,
Grim

Did you find your solution?

We have assisted clients in processing jobs like you have outlined. The only catch I have ever noticed is making sure the environment is set correctly in the shell before beginning processing. However, since you say you are getting .lis and .log files, that is probably not your problem.

Just interested if you found your solution. If not, I would be willing to discuss this further with you off line to see what your problem might be.
