BDN - Banner Developer Network

At summit 2008 I met a couple people who talked to me about using their own web forms and submitting the data into Banner. I never got any of their contact information (my fault).

What I am trying to do: I am wondering if anyone can start me in a direction. We have a request information form that I would like to pull out of the banner pages and make a custom web page for. Now when the user clicks submit I want that information to be loaded into banner, so the recruitment office can use the information as they usually do.

Purpose: Basically the banner interface is not attractive and causes a lot of the visitors to bounce after visiting the page.

I have looked for documentation but I guess I am not using the correct key words. Any ideas?
