BDN - Banner Developer Network

I'd like to add a "Create PDF" icon to the headers of some of our SSB pages. Would anyone have suggestions on how to accomplish this?

Has anyone developed informational Banner Channels for Luminis? If so, do you have any pointers?

I'd like to create an "emergency notification settings" channel that displays a phone number and email address from Banner in a HTML form, so the user can make changes and submit them, updating their records in Banner. It would also include a link to an SSB page that lets the user give their complete communication preferences. I've attached some mockup screenshots of what this might look like.

We have not turned on the ability for our students/employees update their own address thru SSB because we don't want them to put in any old effective date they want. I have heard of some schools who have modified it so it automatically puts in the sysdate and doesn't allow the user to enter any dates.

If you have made such a mod, can you please share or if you have other ideas on how to address this problem, please share.

We would like to add the employee's name to the header of some Employee self-service pages (eg., pay stub detail). Please contact me if you know how to do this.

Has anybody here added a parent login/view process to SSB? Basically we would like to add a web form where students set up a login for a parent as well as decide the type of information they would like for the parent to view. Of course then we would have to set up a parent login page as well as screens that handle the parent view.

I would love to hear about what you did, challenges faced etc.

Hi. I have a custome Banweb page that is supposed to export delimited data. the closest thing that i have gotten is for it to create a table through a cursor and use owa_util.mime_header('application/vnd.ms-excel') to export the data as an excel file. I'm having problems because it's not smart enough to recognize a grade of 9/70 as a grade and instead displays it as Sept. 1970. What is a better way of exporting true delimited files through a Banweb page? Thank you.

Hi All,
I am trying to create a portlet that would SSO to Banner SSB application. Right now the Banner SSP app is a blackbox. I can't control it. I was not successful in doing SSO by simply supplying userId and the password to the URI /prod2/twbkwbis.P_ValLogin as I am getting a 401 error while submitting the form. It seems like I am missing a header. I really can't see the header as the app is exposed via https. Need help here from the experts.
