How do you deal with the need to process AR feeds without taking Banner offline?

We are configuring Luminis 4.1 for our client. They want the username for Luminis to be email. But the third party ID field in GOATPAD from in Banner is not accepting symbols like @. Is there a way to change the field property so that it accepts special characters? Also they are planning to upgrade to Banner 8. Is it the same form and process we use to extraxt the XML and import into Luminis? I am very new to Luminis and Banner, and any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

How did your instituition handle data synchronization during the time period of dual systems running before the legacy system was shut down completely? (ie. Sungard product, self developed process and scripts, etc.?)

Has anyone developed a script that mimics the insertion of a registration record through SFAREGS? We would like to insert a registration record automatically instead of going through the SFAREGS form. There are other triggers and tables associated with the insert of a new registration record and I want to make sure that they are fired and updated respectively.
Basically, we would like to take the process of using the SFAREGS form and turn it into a script so we can load a generic course for our students.

Hi we have to create a interface for oncampus housing system . we have third party which take care of student housing oncampus. Now that third party provide us .csv file of data and asking us to provide them data from banner . My question is , Is there any way we can directly import .csv file in Banner from third party or any tool in banner which can do import for us and what is the best way to import/export a file from banner .

Does anyone know of a script or process that will allow you to update the campaign code on all gifts and pledges in a date range?

I am looking for information about the Banner Installment plan module, API's or other necessary information that would allow the creation and tracking of a third party's installment plan.

Has anyone been able to get this process to run in Cron (using a shell script)? I have been able to run about 13-14 Banner processes (still a few problems, but overall it works) to run using a shell script with Cron, but this one process does not work right.

Any help would be appreciated,
